Miles Zitmore invites TJAA members to come enjoy the fresh lake breezes and beautiful nautical scenery at the White Rock Boat Club at White Rock Lake! Bring your paints and easel and spread out to find a perfect lake scape that inspires you to dip your brush!

White Rock Boat Club at White Rock Lake

The Boat Club is located at 340 E Lawther – East side of the lake, south of Mockingbird. It’s a rustic facility – but does have bathrooms and running non-potable water, and does have a drinking water dispenser.
It is strongly recommend that people should wear flat soled, non-skid shoes, as you will be walking over rough-planked docks out over the lake.
The Boat Club has a clubhouse and a covered dock area, and plenty of deck space for people to set up their easels. The Club has folding chairs and tables as well as some stationary picnic type tables.
The club house has a kitchen area with refrigerator and microwave.
People can spread out and paint from multiple viewing areas. The only requirement is that they must not climb onto any of the boats (which are privately owned).
The Club is gated and locked (because we’re in a public park) so Miles Zitmore and a TJAA Board member need to let people in.
People can bring their lunch or snacks , drinks, etc.
A large trash bag will be provided to collect trash.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- If you have significant mobility issues, this might not be a safe venue for you to visit.
- If it is stormy weather, the lake and the boat club are subject to flooding and we would need to cancel. Please contact Miles Zitmore for weather concerns.
