I was raised in New York in a small commuter town on Long Island. All of the children in the family ended up in some form of the Arts – my two brothers went into music, but I drifted towards painting.
I always took art classes in school. I think I took every art class my high school had to offer.
Upon finishing high school, I attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and graduated with a degree in Fashion Design. I completed my education at Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Clothing and Textiles in Business.
My art and fashion background benefitted me throughout my career in the various places I’ve lived in the USA. My first job was a fashion designer –designing bathing suits. Later I became a teacher and taught fashion design at Purdue university in Indiana. When I moved to Texas, I taught desktop publishing, multimedia, web design, animation, and video production.
Throughout it all, I created art as a side business, exhibiting in several private shows everywhere I moved and winning awards. My early pieces focused on oil painting, but when I had children, I switched to watercolor and pen and ink – quick drying paint and easier cleanup made that a pretty easy decision. Now I am also working with acrylics and pastels.

I currently have artwork displayed in various in person shows as well.
Now I am now retired and living in Frisco, Texas. Retirement has allowed me to concentrate more on my painting, commissioned artwork, and painting with my youngest granddaughter.
