As a life-long, passionate “green thumb” and hands-on city gardener, I am enthralled by stately tree limbs, sprawling shrubs, imperfect flowers. From sun rays illuminating elegant poses to postures sleeping in moon shadows, nature’s forms dancing in their unrehearsed moments are transferred to the stage of my canvases. To navigate my observations of the constant changes and to narrate my fleeting thoughts, I mostly paint alla prima, often later finishing with glazes. While brushstrokes imitate the botanic choreographies, I like colors to be free to flirt with each other, for compositions to reveal immediacy. Depicting organic origins, I know that Now is where can be ought to be and where secrets are empty of hidden messages.
