Bio
Jan Ayers Friedman was born in Dallas, Texas and currently paints and sculpts from her shared studio in the Fort Worth Cultural District. She has chaired national juried membership shows and served on executive boards of local arts organizations. Juried into several prestigious regional exhibitions in 2014, Jan’s work is gaining exposure with acceptance into a private museum exhibition in New York and an arts residency in Israel. In 2014, she attained Fellowship status with the Jewish Art Salon in New York. In 2017, her work was showcased at the National Center for Jewish Art in an adjunct exhibition concurrent with the Jerusalem Bienniale.
Painting and sculpting full-time in since 2011, Jan’s work has been continually showcased in Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and Houston. Her work is in private collections in Los Angeles, Austin, New York, and Dallas.
Statement
With every piece that comes out of the studio, the goal remains the same- to evoke an emotion or response to a presented idea, with the metaphysical conversation between the artist, the work, and a viewer creating a connection on a very real and elevated plane.
