As an architect I employed my visual and graphic skills in drawing during all of my professional life. Since 2008 I've been painting and drawing full time. In 1990 I was recognized for having produced outstanding designs of buildings and was made a Fellow in the American Institute of Architects (FAIA). As an assistant professor of architecture, I taught architectural design at Washington University in St. Louis from 1965 to '68.
Formal Education
I attended the Kansas City Art Institute and School of Design for two years before entering service in the U.S, Navy where I found some time to briefly attended the Coronado School of Fine Arts and produced award winning work. After discharge I was accepted in the School of Architecture at Washington University in St. Louis, and after 5 years I graduated with a BA in Architecture. Subsequently I worked as an architect in Holland, Israel and the United States designing buildings nationally and internationally, many of which were recognized for their outstanding design.
Exhibitions
My work has been exhibited in Plano, Denton, The McKinney Ave. Contemporary, Brookhaven College, The MAC, The Latino Cultural Center, The Bath House Cultural Center, the Oxide Gallery and Craighead Green Gallery, Plano Arts exhibitions, as well as other venues. I regularly participate in the North Dallas Artist Studio Tour and I’m a member of the Texas Visual Artists Association. I have had building designs published in a number of national and state periodicals throughout my architectural career. Over a period of years I developed published political cartoons and caricatures of prominent political figures.
In September 2012, I had my first one man show at the Lillian Bradshaw Gallery at the Dallas Main Public Library, at which time were displayed 44 works. He describes himself as a figurative symbolist, for lack of a better term, meaning that he often depicts human figures juxtaposed on and arranged with other objects to convey social or political messages. His preferred medium is acrylic paint.
